Gully south block
park jam / short doc
Tobi Izedomi, a director and cinematographer, creates beautifully shot videos - often of street dance culture - under the guise of his brand Odd Venture. Recently, I accompanied him at the Vauxhall basketball court in London where Gully South Block (GSB) were hosting a Krump jam
Krump is a unique and particularly expressive, form of street dance based in storytelling. Hallmarks involve exaggerated facial expressions, powerful stomps and jabs, along with an especially gritty form of Hip Hop music.
Tobi intends to make a short documentary on their ethos and activity and wanted help with associated content such as portraits, BTS and documentary style photos. GSB are a crew of Krumpers that are big on community. They host jams as gatherings to practice and share dance, while also facilitating battles between individuals.

CGC Sound System
Dan Shaw-Odell of Chewing Glass Collective - a group that has been collaborating to create various new heavy music - has been bringing his childhood loves of dub, sound system culture and metal music together by building a sound system with Tim Hackett AKA Selectah Tee of Head Sessions. Dan has always loved going to dub nights and enjoying the huge vibrations sound systems are capable of putting into your chest, but he wondered... what if you could put metal music through it? Well he and many others found out when they used their system to power a night put on in collaboration with Black City Records called 'Distortion Gospel' in the basement of The Crown in Bristol's St Nick's. The photos below chronicle the sound system from painting to sound testing before making improvements and finally debuting its use as a metal sound system.

Greenpeace campaign bts
Following 'The Big Plastic Count' campaign (see below) was this production where the results of the count were expressed along with the call to action to sign the petition to make the government take greater responsibility of our waste and recycling (of which only 12% is actually recycled, the rest; sent to other countries to deal with - often ending up in the sea,  it's also burned and sent to landfill). The video is a state of alarm that urges people to sign petitions to fix the UK's plastic waste crisis and the global plastics treaty:

"Plastic produced by the oil industry and big corporations is ruining the health of communities across the world. It's killing wildlife, poisoning the land and being dumped in oceans.
To make matters worse, microplastics are building up in the air we breathe, our food and even our bodies.
Plastic pollution is a global problem that needs a global solution. But hope is on the horizon. A ‘Global Plastics Treaty’ is gaining momentum."
